What We Offer

  Lusitano Horses Bred in America
from
Proven Bloodlines

Our goal is to breed top quality Lusitano horses.  In order to accomplish this goal we ensure that each stallion and each broodmare has an excellent temperament, correct Iberian conformation and proven bloodlines.  Stallions must have an established performance record and mares must have demonstrated their abilities under saddle.  The sire of each of our horses has a successful show record in dressage and has earned gold medal status for conformation and movement.  Both sire and dam of each foal have met our strict standards for temperament and trainability.

The environment in which our horses are raised encourages healthy development of our foals.  We believe that the varied terrain allows them to use their bodies effectively and athletically, and prepares them physically and mentally to carry a rider in a balanced manner.

Training Philosophy
Our horses are trained from their earliest years to be respectful of the people they work with to make the process an enjoyable experience for both. We spend many hours working with our horses on the ground to prepare them for effective communication and connection in the saddle.

We introduce our horses to a variety of training situations and school them in the fundamentals of dressage, while also exposing them to other work such as trail-riding in the mountains of Yosemite National Park or working cattle.

We strive to produce safe and trustworthy Lusitanos that exceed our standard for excellence and that can be ridden anywhere from the dressage arena to the mountains!

Gracen-9 yr. old Calm, Gentle Riding Mare
Gracen is a gentle, very kind-natured, 8 yr. old Lusitano mare. She is even-tempered and steady with gaits that are very easy to sit.  She has been ridden on the trail in Yosemite National Park, moved cattle on short cattle drives (1-2 miles), and been a superb horse for beginners or those that need confidence-building. She is currently training all of her lateral work,  is show ready for Training Level and will soon be ready for 1st Level tests.

"Lusitanos, the Border Collies of the horse world."
